‘Anxious’ time for disabled people in Bucks

A disability charity has claimed 70% of working age disabled people in Bucks will lose all or some of their benefits during the next few years.

Bucks Disability Service said the Government’s move to change disability living allowance to personal independent payment with tougher eligibility criteria will cause difficulties.

Charity chairman Andrew Clark said: “The reality of the changes is starting to bite. Over 4,000 people in Bucks of working age receive DLA and most of them will lose or some money, and some of them will lose their motability car as well.

“It’s a very hard and anxious time to be disabled, even in so-called prosperous Bucks.”

The charity will now hold 13 free information events. For more information and to book a place visit www.buds.org.uk
