Thame had its very own representative at the Paralympic torch relay in London this week.
Patsy Baker, 48, ran with the torch on Wednesday from Portland Place to Oxford Street alongside a team of five others.
The Thame Barns Centre events manager has run 139 marathons to date – and will be running the 140th next weekend at the Chiltern Marathon.
Mrs Baker has also been a bone marrow donor and carried out volunteer work in India and Africa.
“Carrying the Paralympic torch was just such an amazing experience,” said the grandmother-of-two.
“It was incredible to be a part of it all – I was quite honoured to be part of the Paralympic Games.
“It was a very proud moment indeed, and most of my family came down to support me.
“It was much better than I could ever have imagined – it was just so magical.”
