Air cadets appeal for help to buy their new minibus

THAME’S air cadet squadron is appealing to the town’s businesses to help them with funds to buy a new minibus.

With their current vehicle now showing its age and in urgent need of replacement, the cadets have been fundraising for a newer one since January.

Packing bags in Thame Co-Op has been one of the activities they have been engaged in, with the generosity of Thame residents already making a sizeable contribution to the fund.

Commanding Officer Mike Kidley said: “In addition to the sterling and continued efforts of all the cadets, we have also secured sponsorship from some local businesses. We’re hoping that others from the town and local area might join us too.

“The Air Training Corps is a fantastic place for young people.

“Our minibus is used to take cadets to all sorts of adventures including flying, gliding, camps on RAF bases and a variety of leisure activities too”.
