A CHARITY which sends Christmas presents to disadvantaged children is appealing for donations.

Operation Christmas Child is an annual project which collects and sends wrapped shoeboxes filled with goodies for needy children.

Once again the scheme is operating a warehouse in Long Crendon and this year’s boxes will be sent to Belarus.

One of the organisers, Sian Thomas, said: “Every box has to be checked at the warehouse and topped up with fillers when necessary. In order to do this we rely on donations and would be so grateful to any local businesses who are able to provide us these.”

Anyone wishing to fill up a shoebox, donate fillers or become a volunteer should contact Sian Thomas on 07739 479459 or Janet Hulett on 07866 003618.
