Think you know everything about anorexia? Think again. It causes hair loss, can stunt your growth and leads to depression.

Now a Thame woman who suffered from an eating disorder for five years is hoping to dispel any remaining illusions that the illness is glamorous.

Sarah Clayton will be joining forces with Lynn May to talk about their own personal struggles with anorexia nervosa, in an event at the Town Hall.

They hope to inform people about the dangers that the disorder has and that are not widely reported.

Sarah said: "Many people were unsure as to whether it was a good idea to talk about eating disorders for fear that we may encourage them. I disagree.

"Everyone is exposed to glossy images in magazines and page
after page of diet advice.

"I want to deglamorise eating disorders and show people what
it is really like."
