A snake normally seen in central US has been caught outside a house in Thame.
The gopher snake, a non-venomous serpent, was trapped in a box by a saxophonist who was cleaning windows at a house on Harrison
Close.

He has since taken it to Tiggywinkles, in Haddenham, where it is being looked after by professionals.

Sarah Close, a nurse at the centre, said: "Originally it was a rescue call that there was a python loose.

"We don't normally get domestic pets, but if it could be dangerous then we would go out and get it.

"It was in very good condition so it's likely that it's an escapee but
nobody has come
forward for it yet."
