THAME-based hotel company Travelodge beat Leicester's Fosse City FC in a charity football match held on Sunday.
Travelodge, made up of 15 local men who work at the head-office in Aylesbury Road, won 5-2 in Oxford, with goals from Richard Noake, Julian Round, Stephen Mulcock (2) and James Killen.

The result was revenge for the 10-0 thumping by Fosse a year ago in the inaugral competition, and to avoid an embarrassing repeat performance, manager Richard Barrett, who was born and raised in Thame, made sure Travelodge FC practised relentlessly on the Astroturf pitches at Thame Leisure Centre.

He said: "We are thrilled with our impressive score, the boys worked really hard for this win and they deserve their victory. It's great, that as part of our fun day out, we raised over £500 for the Helen and Douglas Hospice- so families within the area can benefit from our win too".
