A MARRIED couple who are both approaching 100 years of age are swapping Haddenham for the seaside resort of Minehead.
Norman and Florrie Mann, aged 96 and 95, are both heavily involved in the Church, and will today be starting their new life at a Methodist Home on the Somerset coast.

Their leaving has been commemorated in all of the local churches where they served, and the couple, who lived in Station Court, have also been presented with many gifts and presentations.

Florrie said: "Both of us are at that age where we need looking after and the Methodist residential home will look after us. We wont have anything to worry about. They treat you like family."

But she added: "We are very sad to leave our friends and the whole area has been a lovely place to live. People are so friendly, everybody treats you like a great friend.

"We will miss everyone."

Florrie has been a preacher all her life whilst Norman was the principle organist at Haddenham Methodist Church for the last twenty years, whilst also playing at Christchurch on a regular basis.

The couple, who have three children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, moved to Haddenham in 1986.

Prior to this they lived in Priinces Risborough.

In 2000 they won a computer in a Bucks Herald competition, which Florrie learnt to use and she took over the running of the church magazine.

The Revd Derick Chambers, of the Thame and Watlington Circuit, said: "Here in this Circuit we look forward to hearing how they get on in Minehead, but are confident they will be loved there as much as they have been here."
