THAME Mayor David Bretherton visited Barley Hill School in the town on Tuesday to see the Life Education Centres Mobile Classroom.
For the eighth year running, Thame Town Council has given a grant of £500 towards the cost of annual visits of the Life Education Centres (Thames Valley) Classroom to the three primary schools in Thame. The classroom, with its Educator, supports the school teachers in a range of endeavours including discouraging smoking, misuse of drugs and excessive drinking, and encouraging healthy living in their pupils. The aim is to encourage pupils to become good citizens within the community.

Also present were Mr John Hulett, headteacher of Barley Hill Primary School, Miss Angharad Phillips, who teaches in the mobile classroom, Des Wright and Martin Whitfield from The Rotary Club, which has been responsible for setting up the Life Education Centres and a number of pupils.

The Life Education Centres Mobile Classroom is also funded by the Thame Rotary Club and the Thame Welfare Trust.
