Power tools worth £3,400 have been stolen from a building site in Stone.

The thieves smashed a security light sensor and climbed over a 4ft brick wall surrounding the Oxford Road property, which is being developed.

They took the tools and climbed back over the wall, which faces the road, with the goods, damaging the wall as they did so.

Police believe that due to the size and quantity of what was stolen, the burglars must have taken a while to take the tools and used a vehicle to transport them.

The incident happened between 5.30pm on Monday and 7am the next day.

Anyone with information should call 101 and ask to speak to PC John Gavin.
