Nearly a quarter of a million pounds is being given to fund a Chinnor community building.
The building, part-funded by £220,000 of new homes bonus money, will include a function room, kitchen and bar, four changing rooms, a clubroom, a meeting room and an office.
The overall project by Chinnor Parish Council is expected to cost £780,000.
Building work should begin in the autumn when the council has secured the additional funding needed and it expects the project to take 10 months to complete.
The £220,000 is being provided by South Oxfordshire District Council.
District council leader Ann Ducker said: “This is a fantastic project and when complete will be a real asset to the community that both residents and visitors can be proud of.”
Liz Folley, the parish council clerk, said: “This is a significant sum that shows generous support from South Oxfordshire District Council and will be a key feature in securing funding from other bodies.”
