Long Crendon Parish Council Meeting. At the meeting held recently in the pavilion, the members present were councillors Butler, Camden, Copping, Gilbert, LeBrun and district Cllr Smith.
Apologies were received from councillors Hooper, McNaughton and district and county councillor Edmonds.

t to the basketball pitch on Harroell - the dustbin men will not empty it.
The clerk found the 'Risk Assessment/Play Area' course she attended, very helpful.
Potential purchasers of the spare kick wall are still interested and will be coming over to inspect the equipment.
Aylesbury Vale has replaced several street signs in the village.
Cllr LeBrun has been in touch with Mr Anderson about the boundary hedge on the Recreation Ground.
The pavilion grills have been fixed and now the clerk has to co-ordinate the installation of the flow pipe.
Waste Development Plans. The clerk had only just received the plans and Cllr LeBrun agreed to take them away and study them.
The chairman felt it could be a major abuse to the village, with development lorries going through the village day and night and Cllr Butler questioned if there would be burning of stuff.
Planning Seminar. Cllr LeBrun said over 40 parish councillors from various villages, ranging from Milton Keynes to Wycombe, had expressed interest in attending the meeting. Long Crendon parish Council has instigated and organised the meeting, which would now be held at Church House, as the pavilion would not be large enough. How To Make Effective Planning Responses' facilitated by Dagmar Hutt from Planning Aid South East, should help councillors understand the decision making process.
Parish Plan. Cllr Butler said this was the perfect vehicle for people to get complaints over, by raising points and telling the parish council what they thought.
Highways. Thanks were given to Cllr Hooper, in his absence, by the chairman, Cllr Copping, for giving his time to show an area technician the problems in the village.
Co-Option of Councillor. Only one application had been received, from a Adrian Tighe, who has lived in the village for 11 years. He gave a brief resume about his interests, answering questions from councillors. After a brief discussion, Mr Tighe was co-opted onto the parish council.
There is still one vacancy and councillors urged anyone interested to come forward to apply for the position.
Pavilion. Cllr Camden said the pavilion is not really paying its way, and one local resident had written in suggesting it be advertised as a business meeting room. This was discussed at length by councillors, and more information will be sought.
Miscellaneous. Costs for damage, caused to the grass verge, opposite the Farthings will be covered by the company that owns the vehicle.
The Royal British Legion informed the parish council it has again requested the closing of the roads for the Remembrance Day service.
The clerk was instructed to contact the football clubs to request a timetable of play, in order to avoid playing at the time of the service.
Some of the wooden bollards on the Recreation Ground are to be replaced.
A football club from Aylesbury has contacted Cllr Camden pleading to use the football pitch next season. After much discussion, councillors said no, as it was important not to overuse the ground and to keep it in a good state of repair for local clubs.
Long Crendon Village Association has written to comment that the parish council had not made any effort to provide recycling facilities. The clerk will write, drawing their attention to the village survey, which would be the ideal opportunity to make their views known.

The Library's Big Wild Read. This is a national event held every throughout the summer at libraries throughout the country. Children are already enjoying this year's, the themes of which are recycling and conservation. The reading scheme is also linked to the television series Breathing Spaces and Spring Watch. There is still time for children to participate, just pop along to the library with your library ticket, and pick up your pack.
There are lots of fun things to do, as well as reading. Event details are all at your library.
