Theatre in the Villages returns for the autumn with a series of magic shows, musicals, comedy and cabaret in villages across the county.

Performed by professionals, the shows give people an opportunity to enjoy live theatre within their own community.

This week sees an Evening of Musical Comedy with Victor and Albert at Shabbington and magic duo Morgan and West with their show, Parlour Tricks at Chearsley village hall.

Other shows coming up include a dark and comic tale of love, loss and revenge The Visit at Little Kimble; Movies and Musicals at Wingrave community centre; a one man ghost story in Weedon; a Gothic tale in Wendover; folk songs by Isla St Clair in Ickford; and the Ian English Boodlum Band at Oakley.

The show at Shabbington takes place in St Mary Magdalene Church on Friday at 7.30pm, with original songs, comedy and sheer physical exertion. Suitable for 15+ years, tickets cost £12 and are available from Paula Child on 01844 201236.

Time travelling magic duo Morgan and West present a brand new show of magic and mystery at Chearsley village hall on Saturday at 7.30pm. Suitable for seven years plus, tickets cost £12 and are available from Margaret Morbey on 01844 208913 or Tony Fleetwood on 01844 201176.

It is advisable to book tickets in advance as seats in all venues are limited. Refreshments may be available in some venues. For additional comfort audiences are advised to take a cushion.
