A Roman weekend will transform the grounds of Waddesdon .
Inspired by the Lod mosaic exhibition currently on display in The Stables, the re-enactment weekend will take place in the aviary glade on Saturday and Sunday August 16 and 17 from 10am.
Britain’s premier Roman military re-enactment group the Ermine Street Guard will do battle and teach visitors about life in the Roman army.
An encampment of artisans will enable visitors to explore Roman village life and watch potters and brickmakers to apothecaries, surgeons, coin strikers and there will be a chance to try your hand at some ancient crafts.
There will even be a chance to have your hair styled like a Roman.
This is a free event, but normal admission charges apply to the manor and grounds.
