HADDENHAM villagers enjoyed a tradition which has lasted more than 100 years on Saturday – their annual horticultural society's show.
The event held at the village hall proved to be more popular this year than last with more exhibitors and entrants attending, organisers said they were not sure what to expect due to the unpredictable summer but were also pleased with the amount of visitors.

Sections included the usual fruit, vegetables and flowers as well as floral art, photography, baking and preserves. Children from three different age groups spanning seven to 16 years could also enter.

Secretary, Gay Jordan said: "We are delighted that the show continues to be a success. Thanks to all the hard working people who made it happen."

Some of the winners included Graeme and Chrissie Hollingdale, who won the Mabel Parkinson Memorial Trophy and the Major Sladen Challenge Cup, and Ann Mary Johnstone, who won the Haddenham Horticultural Society Challenge Cup.
