Labour’s candidate has never handled the sort of budget involved in the role but has experience of the criminal justice system during 11 years as a barrister.

Tim Starkey wants to see ‘a more efficient service that really supports victims of crime’.

He said a website could be set up to allow victims to know what is going on with their case.

He wants more support for victims of domestic violence and help for people who fall victim to internet and mail scams.

He is also against the privitisation of the police.

Despite running for Labour, he promises to serve all residents, be they living in urban or rural areas.
