AYLESBURY-born rower Andy Triggs Hodge and his crew have qualified for the next round of the men's fours competition in Beijing.
The British team, consisting of Tom James, Steve Williams, Pete Read and Hodge, came first in the first qualifying heat, at 10.30am our time today (Saturday).

In a performance which confirms their status as one of the favourites for a gold medal, they beat second-placed Italy by more than two seconds.

America came third.

The semi-finals take place on Wednesday.
